The University of Sheffield and Sheffield Hallam University provide a pool of over 62,000 students between them, and over 21,000 students graduate in the city each year. In addition, the Sheffield College is one of the leading colleges of higher and further education in the country with over 20,000 students.
Sheffield also provides access to over 313,000 students and 92,000 graduates per year within an hour’s commute.
University of Sheffield
The University of Sheffield, named Times Higher Education University of the Year 2011, has nearly 27,000 students from 128 countries. In 2014, QS World University Rankings placed Sheffield as the 66th university worldwide and 12th in the UK.
The University is among the top ten in the Russell Group, the association of leading UK research intensive universities, according to the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise (RAE).
Sheffield Hallam University
Sheffield Hallam is a modern university with over 33,000 students, including 4,250 international students from more than 119 countries. Sheffield Hallam is the best modern university in the north of England, as ranked by the 2015 Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide rankings.
Sheffield University Technical Colleges
Sheffield is home to two University Technical Colleges (UTC) which support businesses based in the city by developing our young people with the skills they need for the future.
