Helping Our Businesses
25 June 2020
A lot has changed for everyone over the last few months. Like the many businesses they support, Business Sheffield, has been working hard to adapt to the new world we’re living in and respond to the challenges of an ever-changing economic landscape.
Demand for one-to-one help has proved high as businesses have faced increasing uncertainty. Where a team of only three people would’ve previously answered the Business Sheffield phone line, a response team has grown to over twenty people, helping answer between 100 - 200 calls a day and book appointments for businesses to speak with specialist advisors.
From Business Support Grants, Interruption Loans, Business Rate Relief, Bounce Back Loans to Job Retention and Self-Employment Support, the continuous new government schemes and information released has sometimes been overwhelming. But, all the while, the team's advisors have been on hand to help businesses navigate all this, along with providing critical advice around managing cash flow, keeping operations open, pivoting business models and general survival.
That advice is now adapting, as more businesses get back into production, but it’s also critical businesses are working safely for employees and customers alike. So as the situation continues to change over coming months and new challenges arise, Business Sheffield remains available to offer free support to help local businesses.
They’ve also taken their popular programme of FREE business workshops online. Using video meeting platform Zoom, each session will be hosted by an experienced business advisor and there’s a wide variety of topics to choose from. See the business events page for the latest listing and then click to sign up via Eventbrite. http://www.welcometosheffield.co.uk/business/events
