Sheffield supports Visit Britain’s 'We’re Good To Go' initiative

30 June 2020

Whilst we are all keen to feel some sense of normality in the way we enjoy ourselves in our great city, building confidence is important as we start to visit some of our favourite places and support those businesses who are reopening.

Our national tourism agency, Visit Britain, has launched a new industry standard and supporting consumer mark for tourism to provide a ring of confidence for businesses, attractions and accommodation.

'We’re Good To Go' is the official UK mark to signal that a tourism and hospitality business has worked hard to follow Government and industry guidelines and has a process in place to maintain cleanliness and aid social distancing.

It’s a collaboration between 44 membership bodies and 79 other key organisations from the National Trust to Merlin. What’s more, it’s a straight forward and free self assessment process and Marketing Sheffield are encouraging all reopening businesses to sign up.

It will provide reassurance to local residents and visitors that clear processes are in place, that they can experience a Great British holiday this summer and that as an industry we’re good to go. As it’s all about making residents and visitors feel at home it also supports our Make Yourself at Home campaign perfectly!

We're therefore encouraging all hospitality and tourism businesses in/around Sheffield to get 'We’re Good to Go' certified. Marketing Sheffield will then be prioritising the promotion of those businesses with this certification through The Outdoor City and Visit Sheffield platforms.

Online self assessment for the 'We’re Good to Go' Industry Standard Mark is available at:  https://goodtogo.visitbritain.com/

We’ve also been working with lots of colleagues at Sheffield City Council to produce a handy reopening guide with all the key information in one place. You can download a copy of Reopening Hospitality in Sheffield - A Guide for Businesses here.
