200 Degrees set to open in Sheffield

08 May 2018

Specialty coffee roaster 200 Degrees has announced it will open a coffee shop in Sheffield city centre on 4 June, providing handcrafted fresh food and artisan coffee.

The 83-seater coffee shop on Division Street in the heart of the city, is 200 Degrees’ seventh and confirms the brands ongoing ambition to become a nationally recognised leader in specialty coffee.

The Sheffield venue, which will bring up to 14 new jobs to the city, will serve coffee from the 200 Degrees roast house in its HQ city of Nottingham and food will be prepared fresh on the premises every day, to eat in or takeaway. The design of the shop will continue the brands familiar yet distinctive style of comfort.

200 Degrees has two coffee shops in Nottingham and shops in Birmingham, Leeds, Leicester and Cardiff and have plans to open more across the UK. The brand is known for its adventurous flavours of salads, soups and sandwiches and for using its own roasted beans, which can be bought online.

Tom Vincent, co-founder and director at 200 Degrees, said: “We are lucky to have built up a loyal following in the cities we operate in and we hope to create the same in Sheffield; a vibrant city that has a thriving business community, considerable creative hub and two great universities.

“Division Street was an easy choice for us as it has loads of character, is surrounded by interesting shops and local businesses. It’s just the sort of place we look for.

“There’s already some really good roasters and shops in Sheffield, and we simply aim to become part of the specialty coffee scene, adding our particular take on flavour, interior design and service.”

200 Degrees is not just about serving great coffee, but also teaching great coffee. The experienced team run complementary coffee tasting sessions and answer any related questions, ideal for coffee enthusiasts.

Tom added: “We have big plans for our shops as well as our wholesale offering; providing our coffee for people’s homes and places of work.  We want to bring our handcrafted approach to as many people and places as possible and we’re proud and excited to be a part of Sheffield’s food and drink culture.”

200 Degrees has further plans to open in other towns and cities across the UK, enabling the company to serve even more happy customers.

The Division Street shop was secured on behalf of 200 Degrees by commercial property agent Box Property.

Ben Tebbutt, director at Box Property said: “200 Degrees is a great success story and the roaster’s Sheffield store is already the talk of the city amongst its coffee enthusiasts. We are pleased to be acting for 200 Degrees having previously acquired stores in Birmingham, Leeds, Leicester and Cardiff, in addition to the two Nottingham sites. We, as ever, wish the team all the best with its latest coffee shop.”

Once open, 200 Degrees Sheffield will welcome visitors from 7am-7pm Monday to Friday, 8am-7pm Saturdays and 9.30am – 6pm on Sundays.
