About Off the Shelf

Sheffield's Off the Shelf Festival of Words is 22 this year!

The festival has grown into one of the UK’s most popular and exciting events attracting some of the best known names in literature and the media.  The festival offers a wide range of events for audiences of all ages including readings, workshops, storytelling, exhibitions, talks, walks, poetry, competitions and more. 

Guests this year include Roddy Doyle, Kate Adie, Pam Ayres, Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, Paul Morley, Simon Armitage, Jackie Kay, Lucy Worsley, Chuck Palahniuk, Walter Mosley, Jung Chang, Sally Gardner, Dan Snow, Steve Peters to name just a few – you can see the full programme here.
