Acero open for business

14 July 2017

Scarborough International Properties and its joint venture partner Metro Holdings of Singapore have announced the official opening of Acero; the striking new Grade A office development at Sheffield Digital Campus

Acero is the third addition to Sheffield Digital Campus, complementing the existing offices; Electric Works and Ventana House.

Based in the heart of Sheffield city centre, it is one of the highest specification offices in the region, offering 80,599 sq ft Grade A, flexible office accommodation over six floors, with floorplates of up to 15,000 sq ft.

Its location adjacent to the Parkway provides unrivalled access to transport connections, with Sheffield’s mainline train station just a stone’s throw away and excellent links to the city’s bus and tram networks.

The Leader of Sheffield City Council, Cllr Julie Dore, officially opened Acero with Scarborough Group Chairman, Kevin McCabe at a ceremony this week. Cllr Julie Dore said:

“The opening of Acero is of great significance to our city. The impressive new building is the latest addition to the Digital Campus development and has been privately funded in a 50:50 joint venture between Scarborough and Metro – marking the first time that Singaporean investors have come to the city.

“Sheffield’s attributes include access to a high-quality labour market, thanks to the strength of our universities, and an exceptional quality of life.

“The decision to build speculatively highlights the confidence that Scarborough and Metro both have in the future of the city and the demand for the very best office space, which will be let to home-grown and international organisations.”

Kevin McCabe sees Acero playing a major role in Sheffield’s economic development:

“Sheffield Digital Campus is one of the most significant developments within our expansive Northern Powerhouse portfolio. Acero will make a strong addition by delivering over 80,000 sq ft of new office space at a time of growing interest from occupiers.

“Acero will not only be an exceptional place to work, but will form part of our wider plans to create a vibrant new destination in this part of the city.”

Acero is being let by Commercial Property Partners, Colloco and Knight Frank, who are talking to a number of interested parties.
