Eat Out to Help Out this August

Eat Out to Help Out this August

04 August 2020

The ‘Eat Out to Help Out Scheme’ has launched, which means you can enjoy a 50% discount (up to £10) when you eat-in at a participating restaurant, pub or cafe, Monday to Wednesdays throughout August.

With over 72,000 venues signed up across the UK, lots of Sheffield businesses are taking advantage of the government scheme aimed at boosting trade for the hospitality industry, post-lockdown.

So how do you get the discount? Well the good news is, you don’t have to do anything other than make sure your chosen establishment is signed up to the ‘Eat Out to Help Out’ Scheme and the discount will be applied automatically. Don’t forget it’s just running on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays though.

All diners in a group of any size can use the discount, you do not need a voucher and you can also use it at the same time as other offers and discounts, with no minimum spend. Please note though, the discount cannot be claimed against alcoholic drinks or service charges.

Where to go? You can search the participating venues available by checking against your home postcode or using the postcode of somewhere you’re planning to visit. Head to the official restaurant finder at:

Lots of familiar chains are taking part which you can see listed here, but a whole load of Sheffield’s independent restaurants, pubs or cafes are also involved, so it’s a really great time to Make Yourself at Home and explore the culinary delights of some places you haven’t been before.

Once again This is Sheffield have stepped up to provide a detailed rundown of all the Sheffield indies involved in the scheme- you can see their comprehensive listing here:

From your favourite coffee houses such as Marmadukes, Gaard and Tamper to classic pubs like The Broadfield and Rutland Arms, through to fine dining at Jöro and Brocco, tempting options can be found right across the city.

While we’re also still somewhat limited when it comes to travelling at the moment, you can still take your taste buds on tour with an array of world flavours and fusion to be enjoyed, from Ashoka, Nam Song and Tuski to El Paso, La Vaca and Otto’s- you could eat out every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday in August and still only taste a fraction of the great places on offer.

From afternoon tea at Mosborough Hall to a steak dinner in the Marco Pierre White restaurant at DoubleTree Sheffield, lots of Sheffield hotels are also taking part with Tankersley Manor, Kenwood Hall Hotel, IBIS Sheffield City Centre and The Quays Hotel all signed up, meaning visitors can continue to save during their stay.

If you’re planning a jaunt out of the city to visit Chatsworth House this August, worth noting their tearoom and restaurants are also partaking in ‘Eat Out to Help Out' too.

If you already know which restaurant, pub or café you want to head to visit, just make sure your desired establishment is taking part by checking their social, website or ringing ahead before you book you table. Enjoy!
