Our Cow Molly feature on BBC Countryfile
02 February 2021
Sheffield viewers to this week’s episode of Countryfile, which aired on BBC One on Sunday 31 January, may have spotted a familiar business as the programme featured a story about the city’s multi-award winning dairy farm, Our Cow Molly.
Having visited their working farm on a snowy weekend a couple of weeks ago, the Countryfile crew showed how Our Cow Molly have remained resilient during a challenging year and been collaborating with the community across the city.
Aside to switching their milk production back to glass bottling and mention of their team up with City Taxi’s delivery service City Grab, Countryfile were also keen to showcase Sheffield’s premier milk and ice cream producer’s unique Yorkshire vending machine, set up in a purpose built shed on their site recently, to offer the ultimate social distanced shopping experience.
The story also showed Our Cow Molly’s dedication to making deliveries every day, both during the pandemic and on a particularly wintery weekend where the elements were also pitted against them. Yet despite substantial snow in Sheffield at the time, the team made their deliveries as they have done every day since 1947.
Speaking about the visit from the BBC team, Our Cow Molly owner, Eddie Andrews said: “Countryfile attracts around 6 million viewers, so this was a fantastic opportunity to show what we’re doing as an innovative Made-in-Sheffield business, while also showcasing our city at the same time. It doesn’t make for great driving, but Sheffield looks pretty spectacular covered in snow, especially from up in our part of the city.”
