    Following a successful first UK appearance in London last November, the 10th edition of Dublin’s Creative Festival OFFSET will be taking place in Sheffield on Friday 21 and Saturday 22 October 2016 at the Crucible Theatre. To celebrate this event, as well as all our fantastic creative start-ups already set-up in Sheffield, we will be hearing from some of them and learning about their journey.

    For those who have recently finished school or colleague will be glad to hear that a summer hunt for 60 new apprentices has started here in Sheffield.

    The national contact centre, Knowhow (the outward-facing services brand of Dixons Retail), is on the lookout for apprentices in their customer service, inbound sales and technical support divisions to boost its 1,350-strong workforce.

    On Monday, High Streets Minister Andrew Percy announced a new category for the most social media savvy shop as part of the Great British High Street competition. With backing from Twitter, they are on the search to find the top independent shops that are using social media to drive customers to their local high street and support their local community.

  • Sheffield has been shortlisted to host the Great Exhibition of the North

    Sheffield has been shortlisted to host the Great Exhibition of the North in Summer 2018.

    Nine bids were submitted on the 30 June and four towns and cities have been selected to go through to the next stage by the Great Exhibition Board, that has representatives from the arts, culture and design sectors, and is chaired by Sir Gary Verity CEO of Welcome to Yorkshire.

    The £480 million retail development in the heart of Sheffield is set to transform the city centre with new shops, restaurants, cafes and bars. The development, along with a landscaped public space designed to join the SRQ up with existing vibrant shopping areas, will transform the experience of visitors and workers in the city.
