Born on Sunday Silent is a new Black British Gothic Horror short film based on the true story of Kai Akosua Mansah who is buried in Sheffield General Cemetery.
Adapted from a short story by Désirée Reynolds, the film follows student Abba-Yaa, who is haunted by Kai, the child spirit she is researching.
Abba-Yaa gets more than she bargains for when she discovers the true horrors of the past.
Writer Désirée Reynolds and Gothic literature and Horror film specialist Dr Maisha Wester, School of English, University of Sheffield, will discuss the film, the true story of Kai Akosua Mansah and Black Gothic.
Born on Sunday Silent is produced by Tyke Films and co-written and directed by Eelyn Lee, with support from BFI Network, Necessity and Sensoria.
