harmony. 天人合一 is a new dance-theatre work merging text with physical theatre.
It is a physical play exploring tien-rén-hé-yi, which is the idea of unity of heaven and the human in classical Chinese philosophy and that humanity is an integral part of nature.
A group of women identifying performers from different cultural spaces, each with a unique relationship to Britain explore what it means to care for this country - the soil, the land, the water - in the face of colonial trauma and a climate crisis.
A rhythmic and percussive sound design by Nicola T. Chang 張彤 propels this dance-theatre work forward weaving in Indo-Guyanese folk songs and Cantonese nursery rhymes.
