Dr Peter Collinge, FRHistS, presents an illustrated talk on John Carr, the most important architect working in the north of England in the Georgian age.

Based in York, he designed and built an astonishing array of structures including racecourse grandstands, stables, assembly rooms, asylums, country houses and prisons.
