At their height you are invited to explore this idyllic landscape and discover how meadows can benefit people, pollinators and our planet, as well as how you can create your own haven at home.
The day will give you exclusive access to wander through the Pictorial Meadows trial beds and meet the experts. Uncover the secrets of differing meadow varieties, how to ensure they thrive in your garden, teem with life and have a positive impact on our environment.
Explore the 16th century grounds where meadows mix with a formal Tudor labyrinth, apothecary garden and perennial planting amongst the ruins of Sheffield Manor Lodge. Wander the meadows and gardens.
Wind your way through the various meadows from the Turret House through to the Pictorial Meadow trial garden. Along the way you'll discover meadow filled havens and green spaces full of wildflowers.
A chance to ask the experts questions about meadows and experience some of the colourful and unusual species being tried out. Explore the ruins and Tudor Turret House From Medieval deer park to a Tudor powerhouse, you can explore the story of Sheffield Manor Lodge including the intrigues and dramas of Mary, Queen of Scots' time in captivity. They'll be offering self led tours and our volunteers will be on hand for you to ask any questions.
