Photo North Student Photography Competition

Alumno, the award-winning specialists in the design and development of good quality and modern accommodation for students, in conjunction with Places for People, and Homes for Students, have been announced as the key sponsors for this year’s Photo North, Sheffield Student Photography Competition.

Photo North, one of the UK’s premier photography festivals, has launched their Sheffield Student Photo competition with the brief ‘Your Community’.

The esteemed judging panel include Channel 4’s Picture Team, and finalists will be exhibited at Park Hill later this year.

The brief asks students to consider, what does community mean in 2023? This competition is to share through photography, a personal interpretation of community.

This competition is only open to students.

The project may want to explore a place of worship or employment; or focus on sexuality, politics, sport, a tradition, or other interest.

This is a fantastic opportunity for all students to embark on this competition as a summer project, it is open to any student, irrespective of what they are studying, they can simply be an avid photographer wishing to enhance their skills.

Winner and runners up from the competition will be unveiled at an exciting celebration event, with a full evening of exhibitions, talks & screenings, on November 16th at Beton House, Park Hill.
