Sheffield Bricktropolis 2022

06 Aug 2022 - 21 Aug 2022

Sheffield Bricktropolis returns to Sheffield city centre between Saturday 6th and Sunday 21st August.

This year's event includes a fantastic visitor trail of dinosaur-themed sculptures (the Brickosaurs), an interactive play zone, giant mosaic builds and an amazing AFOL (Adult Fans of LEGO) exhibition...events and activities designed to delight LEGO (and dinosaur) fans of all ages!

The Brickosaurs - 6th to 21st

August Sheffield BID invites you to undertake an 'Expedition of Extinction' across Sheffield city centre to discover amazing creatures from a land that time forgot. The Brickosaurs trail, delivered in partnership with Brick Live, takes you on a journey through time with 15 dinosaur-themed brick models. The trail includes a 2m tall Velociraptor and a Parasaurolophus measuring over 3m in length. There are also two dinosaur ‘selfie zones’ along the route. To find all 15 sculptures you will need to get your hands on an official trail guide. Copies of the guide will be available from 'Explorer Central', on Surrey Street (next to the Winter Garden) from Thursday 4th August, priced at £1 per copy.

AFOL User Group weekend - 6th and 7th August

On Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th August, our Adult Fans of LEGO® (AFOL) display will be open to the public as model builders from across the country come together to display their own creations. Head to Sheffield Hallam University’s Hallam Hall, located in the Owen Building on Howard Street. The exhibition will be open from 10am to 4pm for fans young and old to see incredibly intricate models which have been created from the nation's favourite bricks. Entry is free and there is no need to book.

Join in a Giant Mosaic build - 9th, 10th, 16th and 17th August

Take part in one of the biggest builds that Sheffield has ever seen! Head to Sheffield Hallam University’s Hallam Hall (located in the Owen Building, Howard Street) on Tuesday, 9th, Wednesday, 10th, Tuesday, 16th and Wednesday 17th August for the Sheffield Bricktropolis Giant Mosaic builds. Each big build takes place between 10am and 4.30pm on all four days. Families can drop in at any time on any day and help to build a large dinosaur-themed mosaic. Entry is free and there is no need to book, but this event is offered on a first come basis (depending on numbers participating).

Visit the Stay & Play Zone - 6th to 21st August

Sheffield Cathedral on Church Street will play host to a fantastic Stay & Play Zone, an opportunity to get creative with toy bricks. The Cathedral will host two brick play pits and two graffiti brick walls. There is no need to book, just drop in and 'stay & play' (subject to capacity). Opening times vary - please see www.sheffieldbricktropolis.com/what-s-on/stay-play-zone for details.
