Sheffield Photographic Society - 2022 Annual Exhibition

The Society is pleased to announce that its Annual Exhibition returns to the Sheffield city centre after a 2-year absence due to the Covid pandemic.

The Exhibition will be held in the Sheffield Cathedral from Friday, 25th March to Sunday, 3rd April 2022, and Marilyn Roberts, President of the Yorkshire Photography Union, will officially open the Exhibition at 12 noon on the 25th March.

The Annual Exhibition is the Society’s showcase for the best recent work of its members, and is a print only Exhibition. Member’s works featured in the Exhibition have been selected by an experienced national judge, Chris Palmer from Middlesex.

Selected images will reflect the following classifications:-

Open which includes Pictorial, Altered Reality, Portrait, Photojournalism and Monochrome sections.



Photo Essay.


Natural History.

Sheffield its Life and Environs.

Small Prints.

It is anticipated that approximately 140 images will be on display, including the trophy winning images from the above classifications. Also on display will be a selection of trophy winning images from the Society’s 2020 and 2021 Exhibitions which could only be displayed on line due to Covid restrictions.

Society members will be on hand at various times to discuss any queries visitors may have.

Entry is free during normal Cathedral opening times. Visitors are asked to be respectful of any services or other activity taking place in the Cathedral.

Light refreshments are available in the Cathedral’s 1554 Coffee Shop
