Sounds from the Ground is a series of 3 free drop-in sound workshops that respond to Rachel Pimm’s Mixed Metaphors exhibition.
Come and explore sound (making, recording, listening, producing and reproducing) in specially devised sessions led by artists that incorporate different materials, objects and instruments.
In Sounds from the Ground #2, bones tan jones will lead participants through a 3-part workshop combining body, breath and being.
Through a series of Qi gong movements, games, vocal exercises and weaving through the vastness of space, participants will explore ways of working with our internal energies to create intuitive, improvised, collective performance.
This workshop will be accessible to all abilities; no vocal, movement or art background is required, and all movements can be altered for your access needs.
Locally foraged herbal teas will be provided, and working with these herbs will be a part of our workshop.
Sounds from the Ground drop-in sessions will take place at Soft Ground in Sheffield city centre and are open to all, including children aged 5+
