Sounds from the Ground is a series of 3 free drop-in sound workshops that respond to Rachel Pimm’s Mixed Metaphors exhibition.
Come and explore sound in specially devised sessions led by artists that incorporate different materials, objects and instruments.
For Sounds from the Ground #3 join artist Freya Dooley to collaboratively create a collaged soundscape that responds to the layered landscapes of Mixed Metaphors.
Imagining the sonic characters of functional objects and industrial materials within the space as members of a kind-of alternative orchestra, participants will experiment with musical loops, hooks and samples to generate improvised, electronic soundtrack/s for the exhibition.
All tech and materials provided, along with refreshments, and no previous knowledge or experience is needed.
Suitable for all ages, including children aged 5+
Sounds from the Ground drop-in sessions will take place at Soft Ground in Sheffield city centre which has lift access and disabled toilet.
