Join Sheffield & Rotherham Wildlife Trust at Brooks Bank Farm and have a go at scything a beautiful wildflower meadow!
Sheffield & Rotherham Wildlife Trust are running 1 hour give-it-a-go sessions on scything where the Sheffield Lakeland team will show you how to transform a meadow into a crop of hay using traditional techniques with a scythe.
You will learn how to use these amazing tools and how they shaped the landscapes that we see around the Sheffield Lakeland Landscape area and beyond.
To ensure you are attending your preferred time for the scything give-it-a-go please book onto the relevant session as there will only be limited drop in spaces available on the day. Additionally throughout the day there will be guided walks, binoculars and bird guides to explore the wildlife at the farm, children’s crafts, and much more.
There is no need to prebook these activities so don’t forget to explore then during your visit. Please note it is only the scything sessions that need to be pre-booked.
The scything is only suitable for 16+ and those under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. The session leader has the right to refuse or ask an individual to leave a session to maintain safety.
