Clare Jenkins, journalist and frequent visitor to India, discusses the challenges of revisiting and revising material for a different medium. Teatime at Peggy’s started out as a radio programme, distilling 15 years of visits to Anglo-Indian friends in Jhansi into thirty minutes. For the book, she and Stephen McClarence have expanded on those experiences, incorporating material from notebooks, journals and audio recordings. She’ll explain how they tackled weaving together description (Stephen), dialogue (Clare), observations and humour (both).
