Writing In The Park

05 Dec 2023 14:00 - 15:30

A welcoming and relaxed group for anyone interested in writing, led by poet and musician Ray Hearne. Whether you've been writing your whole life or have never put pen to paper before, come down and enjoy a cuppa and some time with other creative folk.

Ray Hearne is a writer and performer of songs and poems rooted in South Yorkshire communities, their histories and experiences, and has organised and facilitated writers' workshops at every corner of South Yorkshire.

He was also the co-presenter with Rony Robinson for many years of Write On, Radio Sheffield’s poetry programme, and his poem, ‘A Sing Song for Stainless Steel,’ was cut into fourteen Kilkenny marble benches which you can find on the Moor in Sheffield City centre.

This session is for anyone aged 16+ and babes in arms are welcome.
