Sheffield Christmas Markets return to the city centre from 12 November until Christmas Eve, but there’s also a whole load of fantastic market events taking places across the city, giving you ample opportunity to pick up some unique gifts and enjoy a little festive cheer over coming weeks.  

Here’s our rundown of the best Sheffield market events and fayres, happening in the run up to the big day…


Handmade for Christmas at the Millennium Gallery                           30 October – 23 December
Sheffield Museums’ Handmade for Christmas makers showcase offers gift ideas for everyone, with work available from over 40 artists, designers and craftspeople. From beautiful homeware, screen-printed textiles and hand-blown glass to one-off jewellery, all the work on show has been hand-crafted in workshops and studios across Sheffield, Yorkshire and Derbyshire. https://bit.ly/3bFrXZ6

Hedgerow Market
on Division Street                                                6 November & 4 December
Independents rule at the Hedgerow Market! Expect a festive twist as once again, Division Street is brought to life with live music and stalls, selling an abundance of fresh produce and handmade wares, interwoven between the vibrant shops, bars, cafes and pubs already residing along the street. www.hedgerowmarket.com

Sheffield Christmas Markets                                                            5 November – 24 December
Enjoy that festive feeling and browse a huge choice of seasonal goodies on offer from the traditional wooden cabins located on Fargate, Pinstone Street and around the Peace Gardens. Traders will be selling gifts, crafts, street food and refreshments. Chatsworth Christmas Market                                                         16 – 24 November
With over 100 stalls Chatsworth House’s annual Christmas Market is one of the biggest in the region. Though just over the Yorkshire border, Sheffield’s proximity to Chatsworth means you can find lots of local makers at the event, all set in the grounds of this stunning iconic location.

Yorkshire Artspace Open Studios                                                  20 & 21 November
Visit over 100 artists in their studios, at Persistence Works and Exchange Place. The event is a unique opportunity to buy original artworks direct from the maker and see them actually at work, plus free exhibitions, workshops, demonstrations and pop-up cafés. Craft + Flea
at Sheffield Cathedral                                                    20 November
Featuring a collection of independent makers, collectors, creators, designers, curators and small business heroes, unique to each city, the event is an authentic crafty twist on the traditional flea-market. Pollen Market at Castlegate                                                              21 November & 19 December
Pollen is a new monthly celebration of all things botanical, hosted along Sheffield’s luscious Grey to Green corridor in Castlegate. More than just a flower market, the event is brought to you from the team that run Peddler Market and celebrates all things botanical with an abundance of greenery, live music, art and local produce. www.pollenmarket.co.uk

Artisan Market at Meadowhall                                        26 - 28 November, 10 - 12 December, 17 - 19 December
While Meadowhall is better known for big high street names, their Artisan Market has an emphasis on all that is local and original, showcasing the finest food, drink and craft producers from across Yorkshire. Rex Market in Kelham Island                                                                  27 November & 11 December
Kelham Island’s new regular market event takes places across Neepsend Lane and will be hosting, not one, but two festive editions with a plethora of local makers and lots of delicious street food on offer. www.rexmarketkelham.com

Endless Love Winter Makers Market at Showroom Workstation         27 November
Endless Love are set to host their biggest in person event yet, when their Winter Makers Market comes to the Showroom Workstation. The event will present 50 contemporary art, craft and design stalls, hosted by makers from across the UK.  www.endlesslovecreative.com

Pop- Up Christmas Markets at Dyson Place                                  27 November and 4, 11, 18 December

Nether Edge Farmer’s Market                                                               5 December
Expect a festival feel to this well-loved market event, which brings together 50-60 stalls along Nether Edge Road and Glen Road, in addition to the great community of local shops and businesses.
