Plans in for next stage of AMP R-evolution

23 October 2013

Outline plans have been submitted for the development of 5.29 acres of land at the Advanced Manufacturing Park (AMP).

The development, by Harworth Estates, is being marketed under the title of 'R-evolution @ The AMP' and the latest plans involve about 85,000 sq ft of business and manufacturing floorspace across three plots.

The outline proposals involve plots two, three and four of R-evolution, with seperate proposals being progressed for plot one. The plans also incorporate access roads, service yards and car parking.

The site is currently vacant and was formerly in use as part of a larger mining site. To the east lies phase one of the developed part of the AMP which was constructed over the last decade.

This is now home to companies such as Rolls-Royce, Boeing and the University of Sheffield. The AMP, located to the west of Rotherham and close to the boundary with Sheffield, has been identified by the central government as a national strategic location and granted enterprise zone status in 2011.
