Out & About
Join us for a summer of celebrations in Sheffield’s Cultural Industries Quarter (CIQ), held across a series of four special weekends.
Out & About will bring together cultural, community and hospitality businesses in the area, alongside community groups, local artists and creatives to celebrate creativity and making in Sheffield! Each of the four special Out & About Weekenders will have a theme of its own and offer a programme of FREE, family-friendly activities including drop-in creative workshops, exhibitions, newly-commissioned artworks, performances and events.
The CIQ Square (opposite Site Gallery and The Workstation on Brown Street in the city centre) will act as a central hub, at the heart of all the action and be transformed into an outdoor venue where you can hang out, buy food & drinks, and take part in the array of exciting activities.
In addition to this, venues throughout the CIQ will be getting involved and hosting their own activities in conjunction with the Out & About weekends. A map of the area will be available to help you explore everything on offer.
Freshly Squeezed Weekend: 30 & 31 July
Freshly Squeezed is a two day festival of live music and workshops taking place in the CIQ Square programmed by and for young people featuring a selection of the most talented young musicians and producers in the city.

Sustainability Weekend: 3 & 4 September
This exciting programme of free, family friendly activity explores ideas of environmental, social and personal sustainability, featuring creative contributions from local community groups, environmentally conscious artists and creatives.

The Out & About summer programme is funded through Sheffield City Council’s Economic Recovery Fund and led by Site Gallery, alongside partners The Showroom Workstation, Yorkshire Artspace and Bloc Projects.
Hospitality in the CIQ
Industry Tap
Tap bar and bottle shop, Industry Tap pride themselves on providing a wide variety of excellent craft beers, with 21 lines showcasing rotating guest brews from Sheffield and beyond.
Birdhouse Tea Bar & Kitchen
Built in a converted former cutlery-machine factory, Birdhouse have drawn on their expert tea knowledge to create a modern dining and drinking experience, with tea at the heart of it all.
The Rutland Arms
Specialising in fine beers, boozes and tasty, freshly prepared food, The Rutland Arms welcomes everyone and anyone equally to enjoy themselves in good company so long as you adhere to the forbidden music board above the jukebox.
Kollective Kitchen
Kollective Kitchen is connected to Sheffield's Site Gallery, serving dishes that are locally sourced, but globally inspired, with a focus on colour, excitement and sustainability.
Sidney & Matilda
Where Brooklyn meets Berlin in Sheffield's creative quarter. Sidney and Matilda is a warehouse, basement, and courtyard orientated music and event venue, that has shined new neon red light on an abandoned industrial district.
Tamper Coffee
Recreating a slice of contemporary kiwi café culture in the heart of Sheffield, Tamper serve speciality coffee, teas and fresh smoothies, alongside a freshly prepared brunch menu.
Fusion Organic Cafe
Fusion believe in creating food that is fresh, healthy and above all tasty, presented with a touch of flair. The food is cooked with care by an enthusiastic team in an open-plan kitchen.
