The home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire is set in the magnificent landscape of Derbyshire's Peak District National Park.
The 1000 acre park and the farmshop and its restaurant are open all year round. Chatsworth has a long tradition of welcoming local people and holiday makers from around the world. We look forward to welcoming you.


The 105 acre garden is a magical landscape, beautiful in all seasons, and it can be visited separately from the house. It has evolved over more than 450 years, and continues to change today.

Chatsworth farmyard and adventure playground

Younger visitors and families particularly enjoy the farmyard with its wide variety of animals and their young, and the spectacular woodland adventure playground.

Chatsworth Park & Stand Wood

Every day of the year, the 1000 acre park, on the banks of the river Derwent, is open for free, for everyone to enjoy as they choose; walking, playing or picnicking.

Farm shop in Pilsley (1½ miles) Monday to Saturday, 9.00am to 5.30pm Sunday, 11.00am to 5.00pm Park Open all year. Chatsworth is 8 miles north of Matlock off the B6012. It is 16 miles from the M1 Junction 29, signposted via Chesterfield (follow brown signs), 42 miles from the M6 Junction 19 and 30 mins from Chesterfield rail station.

Accessible by Public Transport: Chesterfield station is 12 miles away.
