Ecclesall Road & Sharrow Vale Road

PLEASE NOTE: We’re currently working hard on a brand-new Welcome to Sheffield website. You’ll still find some great suggestions on these pages, but some of the information may not be up to date. For the most up to date news and ideas for exploring the city, as Sheffield eases out of lockdown restrictions, please see the Make Yourself at Home webpage here

We'd also recommend you visit the dedicated websites/social media for any Sheffield attractions, accommodation, shops, restaurants, cafes, bars and pubs, to see their latest information before visiting. Booking is essential for lots of the city's attractions and hospitality businesses.

Ecclesall Road is a bustling stretch of restaurants, coffee houses, pubs, bars and shops with ease of access to some of the city’s loveliest green spaces.

Situated just off Ecclesall Road, Sheffield’s Botanical Gardens are one of the city’s real treasures listed by English Heritage as a Grade II site of special historic and architectural interest.  Here you’ll find an array of landscaped gardens home to over 5000 species of plants, complete with glass pavilions, fountains and even a bear pit.

A little further up Ecclesall Road you’ll also find Endcliffe Park, a large family park and woodland that runs along the Porter Brook. You can even walk out to the Peak District National Park from here following a fascinating route along the Porter Valley taking in waterway heritage sights such as Shepherd Wheel and Forge Dam, as well as beautiful landscape. Stagecoach run a route along Ecclesall Road; you can find information about the route as well as live bus times here.

Wherever your adventures take you, be sure to make time for some R&R in one of the many excellent eateries Ecclesall Road and Sharrow Vale have to offer.
