John Lewis Sheffield announces new £1.3m beauty hall
16 April 2014
John Lewis today announced a £1.3 million investment in its Sheffield department store, which will see the refurbishment of the ground floor, including a new-look beauty hall.
The plans will see the beauty hall extended and refitted with some of the latest concept fixtures and new brands will be added to the assortment. As part of the refurbishment, haberdashery will move to the second floor, toys will be relocated to the third floor and gifts and gift food will move down to the ground floor.
Work on the project is due to start in August this year and the project will be completed in October. John Lewis Sheffield will remain open throughout the works and activity will be carefully managed to minimise any impact on customers.
James Prince, head of branch, John Lewis Sheffield said: “Our primary focus is always our customers’ shopping experience and this investment will help to ensure Sheffield shoppers continue to receive the best that John Lewis has to offer. Our long term focus remains to work with the Council on the viability and vitality of the city centre."
Nalin Seneviratne, Sheffield City Council’s Director of Capital and Major Projects added: “We welcome the refurbishment announced by John Lewis- it certainly demonstrates their commitment to Sheffield's shoppers whilst we discuss the details for the new retail quarter in the city centre.”
