Boutique Sheffield hotel and restaurant named City Hotel of the Year
11 October 2016
Brocco on the Park has been named City Hotel of the Year, by the Good Hotel Guide, the UK’s wholly independent guide to the UK’s best hotels.
The Good Hotel Guide, co-edited by Adam Raphael and M. Astella Saw, awards 10 Césars each year to the most celebrated hoteliers who have demonstrated excellence in their field. Known as the Oscars of the hotel industry, the awards are named after Cesar Ritz.
A beautiful, boutique hotel which boasts quality food, a luxury bolt hole and friendly service, Brocco on the Park was described by the judges to offer, ‘a Scandi-chic interior and buzzy neighbourhood kitchen serving adventurous cuisine…this handsome Edwardian villa has eight bedrooms and welcomes guests with cupcakes.’
Co-editor Adam Raphael comments: “The Guide is an unbiased selection of the best hotels, inns and B&Bs with personality and character across the UK and Ireland. Hotels are chosen solely on merit and the entries are rewritten each year. Readers’ reports are painstakingly scrutinisted, and reports from inspectors are based on anonymous visits.
M. Astella Saw adds: “This year’s César award winners reflect the rising standards of hotel-keeping across the country. All 10 properties have been chosen for their immaculate service, warm welcome, fine hospitality and memorable individuality.”
Brocco on the Park, the only hotel in Yorkshire to have been recognised in this year’s César awards was opened in 2014 by owner Tiina Carr.
Tiina comments: “We are absolutely delighted to have achieved this award, for both ourselves and the city of Sheffield. We have worked extremely hard to bring some special to the city and are extremely proud of what we have accomplished.”
