12 October 2016

Tickets are selling fast for the must-see autumn event of the year as the Herd of Sheffield elephants have packed up their trunks and are heading to Meadowhall for one last goodbye.

The hugely popular sculpture trail has seen thousands of local, national and even international visitors coming to Sheffield to follow the trail using the Herd of Sheffield map and interactive app.

The Herd of Sheffield Farewell Weekend will be held from Friday 14th October until Sunday 16th October, at Meadowhall, and tickets are selling on a first come first served basis in advance from www.herdofsheffield.com.

All 58 large elephant sculptures – including popular designs by the Arctic Monkeys and Temper will be on show. It will be the last opportunity to track down all the elephants and scan the QR codes using the app.

Tonya Kennedy, Events Fundraiser at The Children’s Hospital Charity, said: “The Herd of Sheffield Farewell Weekend is your last chance to see the elephants before they are auctioned off to raise money for Sheffield Children’s Hospital.

We’re expecting thousands of people to come along to say goodbye to the elephants over the farewell weekend, but as spaces are limited, please make sure you get a ticket so you don’t miss out on seeing them for one final time!”

The Farewell Weekend runs for three days – Friday October 14 to Sunday October 16 inclusive, opening to the public on Friday at 1pm until 5pm. Saturday and Sunday opening times are 10am to 5pm.  The Exhibition will be located in the Orange Zone Car Park, just outside the Argos entrance.

Meadowhall, along with its joint owners, British Land are very proud to be supporting The Children’s Hospital Charity as host sponsors for the Herd of Sheffield Farewell Weekend.

Darren Pearce, Meadowhall Centre Director commented “This promises to be a fantastic event and we have already seen thousands of tickets sold. We are looking forward to giving the Herd a really big Sheffield send off as well as raising much-needed funds for Sheffield Children’s Hospital.
