Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park

Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park forms an important part of the Innovation District; creating a world class research and innovation environment for the production of new products, processes and services in healthcare technologies, sports and exercise medicine. Sheffield Hallam University’s £14 million Advanced Wellbeing Research Centre (AWRC), with research partners including Canon Medical, Westfield Health and parkrun, emulates the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre’s (AMRC’s) successful model of university-industry collaboration.

The AWRC will become the most advanced research and development centre for physical activity in the world and presents exciting opportunities for local businesses to further develop their specialisms through the creation of commercial solutions for global healthcare markets.

Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park includes the English Institute of Sport Sheffield, iceSheffield, a 600 student University technical College specialising in Sport Science, Health Sciences and Computing, a 1,200 pupil Oasis Academy and a 3G pitch.

Future developments include a 3,000 seater indoor arena, 3,900 capacity stadium, 100,000 sq ft of offices/laboratories and two further research centres – the Centre for Child Health Technology and the Orthopaedic & Rehabilitation Research & Innovation Centre.
