When the sun favours our corner of South Yorkshire, lots of the city's bars, restaurants and cafes have some great alfresco spaces for you to make the most of it. 

From suntrap terraces to cobbled courtyards in former cutlery workshops and even the odd rooftop, below you'll find a selection of great places to enjoy outdoor drinks and alfresco food.

Forum Kitchen + Bar

Situated right in the heart of Sheffield city centre next to Devonshire Green, Forum Kitchen + Bar is the perfect spot for catching up with friends, with an all day menu and open 7 days a week. Great for a night out, but they also have a fantastic sun terrace complete with comfy deckchairs for sunny days in Sheffield too. 

Kelu

A cocktail bar at the gates of Kelham Island, hidden above street level... Find your way up the steel stair case & prepare to be transported to a Sardinian paradise with a twist of modern indulgence.

Domo

Specialising in Sardinian soul food in the heart of Little Kelham, this family run gem delivers an authentic and vast variety of dishes. A beautiful outside seating area is perfect for aperitivos in the sun.

The Lost & Found

The Lost & Found is a botanically inspired venue that has taken root on Ecclesall Road. Cocktails, sumptuous food and great decor make this a fab place to get a drink on the way to or from the Botanical Gardens and Endcliffe Park, or hang out for the day in.

Picture House Social

Down the stairs, under the old Abbeydale Picture House building, you'll find a bar, canteen, rear terrace, Shuffle Shack and live music venue.

Piccolino

Located in Millennium Square, Piccolino brings a true taste of Italy to the heart of the city. Their dishes are rustic, simple and delicious and are created using the best, freshest ingredients. 

Tamper Coffee

Sample a bit of relaxed kiwi café culture at Tamper-Sellers Wheel, a white-washed 19th century former silversmiths in the heart of Sheffield’s Cultural Industries Quarter.

Lavang

Dining at Lavang is about taking guests on a culinary journey, as their dishes uncover the unique flavours and secret recipes from different parts of Asia.

Church - Temple of Fun

Owned by Oli Sykes, frontman of band Bring Me The Horizon and a passionate vegan, Church is a 100% vegan bar and restaurant in Kelham Island, housed in the historic Osborn Works.

Cubana Tapas Bar

Sample authentic Cuban ambience & welcoming Latino vibes at one of Sheffield's most well known establishments, that provides great food but also live music and dancing.

Tonco

Tonco is one of the most friendly restaurants you'll find. Working with big, bold flavours in a really modern and unique way, they offer eclectic sharing plates and fabulous wine.

Steam Yard

Brocco on the Park

Brocco on the Park is an award-winning Sheffield boutique hotel and Michelin Guide-listed neighbourhood kitchen restaurant serving thoughtful, modern British seasonal food with a nod to Nordic flavours.

Curzon Sheffield

Curzon Sheffield occupies a Grade II listed building which previously was the Sheffield Banking Company. Set over two floors, the cinema has three screens and a comfortable lobby where you can work for the afternoon or enjoy some refreshments. In the summer, the rooftop terrace is open and adds another area to enjoy this lovely city.

Decks

Decks is an Ibiza style terrace bar in the Steel Yard's cool shipping container complex, down in Neepsend, Kelham Island. With a fantastic open air rooftop deck, it's a great spot to listen to some tunes, have some drinks and hang out with friends.

South Street Kitchen

South Street Kitchen is housed in Europe's largest Grade II Listed building - the iconic Park Hill Flats. Set inside this brutalist masterpiece you'll find friendly staff, a great vibe, and some quality food and drinks (with lots of gluten free and vegan options).

Gaard Coffee Hide

A place to retreat to, drink great coffee and sample the finest vegan pastries, Gaard Coffee hide is a small and cosy coffee shop tucked away on Burton Road.
