That’s why we were excited to support Louise Godsell, founder of Tranquil Escape, as she began her business journey with us. Based at Hillsborough Golf Club, Tranquil Escape offers a calm and welcoming space where people can relax, something Louise had dreamed of creating for years.
Like many new entrepreneurs, Louise had the vision and passion but needed help bringing all the practical pieces together, from understanding legal requirements and creating a business plan to managing finances, building her brand and attracting customers.
Working with Business Sheffield, Louise received tailored, one-to-one support that guided her through every step of the startup process. Together, they developed a clear business plan, and worked through financial forecasting.
“She helped me go right back to basics, what was needed to start the business, what websites I needed to look at and how to make sure I was doing everything properly.”
Alongside one-to-one advice, Louise also took part in several Business Sheffield workshops, where she built key skills in branding, marketing and startup planning. These sessions helped her develop a clear strategy for attracting and retaining clients through marketing and social media.
“The workshops were really helpful,” Louise explains. “I went to sessions on creating your own brand, marketing hints and tips, and top tips for startups. Each one gave me something useful that I could take away and apply straight to my business.”
Her dedicated advisor, Katie, supported her throughout the journey, helping her make confident decisions, access the right resources and ensure her business followed all the necessary compliance and registration steps.
“Katie was fantastic,” says Louise. “She was incredible to work with and made sure I was heading in the right direction. She gave me the confidence that I was doing everything correctly and above board.”

“They’ve been incredible for me,” says Louise. “It just made everything much easier. I would have struggled without them.”
