A Sheffield-based business has launched a new service that allows children to experience the joy of being creative by delivering arts and crafts activities straight to their door.
My Busy Box provides fun and educational projects that will help to develop the imagination of young people, teach them skills, and grow their confidence – all in one neat package.
Created by local business, My Arty Party, each box includes two different creations with step-by-step instructions, the tools and materials needed to bring them to life, creative games to play and inspiring ideas on ways to expand the crafts further.
The boxes themselves are also part of the fun, each folding into a different 3D animal for children to construct.
With more people than ever looking for ways to keep young ones occupied at home, the activities are designed specifically to be enjoyed independently by children aged 6 to 12 years old. Younger children are also able to enjoy the activities with a little bit of grown-up help.
The idea for the letterbox-sized projects came to My Arty Party after the Coronavirus pandemic put a stop to the arts and crafts parties and workshops that they regularly hosted in and around Sheffield. Through ‘My Busy Box’, the family-run business is once again able to bring the excitement of these events to children in the region, as well as to those right across the UK.
Zoe Bell, Founder of My Arty Party, said: “My experience of working with children for more than 15 years has given me a tremendous understanding about how children learn and develop most effectively. The activities we design are specifically created to tap into this; they motivate children to express themselves individually and to achieve in the way which best suits them.
“We have found that children have lots of fun applying themselves to the activities as they offer just enough challenge for them to experience a huge sense of achievement when they finish their creations. We all love a 'Ta-dah!' moment! They're magic. That's what My Busy Boxes are about.”
My Busy Box is an affordable way to keep children entertained, with individual boxes costing only £10 with free delivery and the business currently offering a launch discount of 15% on their website.
There is also a subscription service available so children can experience the excitement of receiving a new box through the door each month. All of the materials used are child-friendly and, wherever possible, natural and sustainable.
Established in 2014, My Arty Party has worked with hundreds of local families as well a range of local organisations over the years to create opportunities for children and young people to be creative, including Sheffield Libraries, Regather, Yorkshire Artspace, Sheffield City Council, Girlguiding and many more.
