Sheffield City Council and Business Sheffield Launch New Sheffield Business Directory

Sheffield City Council and Business Sheffield have launched the new Sheffield Business Directory, a free online platform designed to help local suppliers get noticed.

The Directory makes it easier for Council officers, buyers and the public to find Sheffield-based businesses when sourcing goods and services. By joining, your business won’t just be easier to find. It will also be visible to the Council’s team officers when they are looking for suppliers (engagement with procurement is usually only required sub-£30k).  Also it's a resource for finding suppliers in general, with advantage that they're all local on the Directory.

This initiative supports the Council’s commitment to strengthen the local economy and promote fair access to opportunities. It also forms part of the Council’s Ethical Procurement Policy, which includes a pledge to seek at least two quotes, up to £150,000 in value, from local businesses wherever possible.

When registering, businesses are asked to provide basic details, including equality data, to help the Council understand the make-up of Sheffield’s business community and ensure the right support is offered where it’s needed most.

The Directory already includes more than 800 Sheffield businesses and continues to grow. It helps the Council build a clearer picture of the city’s business base while improving visibility and connections across the local economy.

This project marks a step towards a stronger, more connected business community, giving Sheffield firms a fair chance to be seen and to succeed.

Registration is free and only takes a few minutes.

Join today and make sure your business is seen where it matters most:
