The Stadium hosts some 260 greyhound racing meetings every year which comprise of some 150 evening meetings. Formula one stock car racing takes place at Sheffield Owlerton Stadium, one of the UK's best appointed sports stadiums. As one of the tightest tracks, Owlerton offers great spectator action at all the meetings, as well as great offers in it's bars and restaurants. This exciting sport takes place over the bank holiday period. Speedway Racing has been held at Owlerton Stadium since the stadium was built. The Sheffield Tigers premier league winning speedway team roar every Thursday evening from April to October with tapes up at 7.45pm. Speedway at Owlerton is still one of Sheffields great family sports and is a particular favourite with the youngsters.
