Woodland crafts at Ecclesall Woods
Set in a beautiful ancient woodland, these traditional skills and heritage craft courses are inspired by nature and enthused by a city of Sheffield-made makers and artisans.
Friendly craftspeople and craft team volunteers will guide you with their knowledge of age-old methods and natural materials to learn and master those hands-on, practical and creative skills you’ve always dreamed of.
Scheduled with the seasons in mind and when locally resourced materials are plentiful, courses take place at the beautifully-crafted workshop area and some may venture into the wider woods. Let nature inspire your creativity - greenwood courses are led by their very own master craftsman Dave Jackson with Rachel, Kay and Pete all at hand to help sharpen existing skills, indulge your senses and visualise your ideas.
Additional Information
The majority of classes have only 5 students and often the tutor is accompanied by a highly trained assistant.
Courses are suitable for all abilities and they offer advanced courses for those who want to take their skills a little further. Although courses are for adults aged 18 years and over, they do feature family workshops for young people throughout the year.
