Daniela is a public relations student at Sheffield Hallam University.

With a taste for both exotic flavours and traditional British pub grub, international student Daniela is spoilt for choice with Sheffield’s restaurants, cafes and markets.

‘When I came to Sheffield I couldn’t believe how much delicious food there was from all around the world. But there’s another ingredient that makes it stand out – the local hospitality. La Mama serves amazing Spanish and Latin American food with traditional ingredients. You can really taste the authentic flavours while the live music delivers on the atmosphere.

I love the British pub culture. On a nice summer’s day you’ll often find me at the Broadfield, a rustic-style Victorian pub with a vast selection of ales and a brilliant beer garden. For somewhere a bit different, I go to Tabby Teas. It’s a cafe that doubles up as a shelter for cats. It’s cute and cosy which makes the perfect atmosphere to sit back and relax.

Abbeydale Road is a hidden gem for cuisine. Na Pedra is a family-based restaurant that serves up amazing Portuguese food and wine. The seafood there is incredible. As a student, it’s great to experiment with home cuisine. Ozmen is an international supermarket that has every ingredient you’ll ever need, with spices, herbs and fresh flavours from all around the world. Rossi’s is an Italian family business with great music, candlelit tables, amazing wine and freshly made pizza. If you’re looking for somewhere romantic, this is the place to go.’
