Rob King - Business Advisor

Rob has over 15 years’ experience as a qualified Business Support Professional and has delivered business support to a huge number of exciting start-ups in that time.

With a proven track record in making effective use of research & marketing techniques to develop innovative approaches when starting a business.  Where possible he likes to help businesses apply an ethical & sustainable approach, enabling them to do their bit to be a driving force for positive change.  His skills will help you understand how you can look at your idea and assess its viability to take it forward.  He has previous sales and account management experience, and he will use this to help your business gain an advantage over competitors and operate efficiently.  He understands the Sheffield business ecosystem and wider network of support that can help a business thrive.

His time as a Business Advisor has been split between 2 spells at Business Sheffield and 8 years at Sheffield Hallam University within their successful Enterprise Team, enjoying working with many exciting ideas.  He was part of the Enterprise Team at Sheffield Hallam University who were awarded “Outstanding Entrepreneurial University 2021” in The Times HE Awards, for their comprehensive approach in embedding entrepreneurship across the institution and working with a wide range of budding entrepreneurs.

Rob has previously set up & run his own successful business, starting from scratch and this experience has proved invaluable when advising others.
