The UK’s leading documentary festival and one of the world’s most influential markets for documentary projects, Sheffield Docfest returns 10 - 15 June 2026.
Taking place Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 September 2026 in Sheffield's stunning Botanical Gardens, Art in the Gardens is one of the largest outdoor art markets in the North of England, with artists, craft makers and visitors coming from across the UK.
Sheffield’s visitor economy reached new heights in 2024, generating a record-breaking £1.85 billion – a 10% increase on the previous year and a full recovery from the impact of the pandemic.
Sheffield has been listed at No.1 by TimeOut magazine as the most underrated city break in the UK. The feature which included 12 cities such as Glasgow, Durham, Bristol and Liverpool, sited Sheffield's affordability, travel time from London and best-of-both-worlds offer as major perks.
Our outdoor city is inspiring other major cities across the world, in the inclusion and development of outdoors as part of their identities, while also striving to solve climate, sustainability and nature challenges faced by the world.
Sheffield is located in South Yorkshire at the very heart of the UK. The city's central location also puts it at heart of the UK's major rail and road networks, meaning it's easy to get to and is around 1 hours’ drive from 3 international airports.
Join Basil (Danny Bayne), the delightfully bumbling Major and Polly (Joanne Clifton), with an 18-strong cast as they bring to life all your favourite moments from the show’s unforgettable twelve episodes.
You'll find an ever expanding value chain which is delivering specialist training to support growth in the sector, and a thriving network of over 100 companies, incubators and organisations; all of which make-up our digital media and technology ecosystem.
Walk for a few minutes in any direction in Sheffield and you’ll most likely wander through at least one of its 800-plus managed greenspaces, including woodlands, parks and public gardens.
The newest chapter in Sheffield’s story as a thriving food destination – this venue is way more than just another food hall, complete with dedicated BBQ, sushi and counter-top dining spaces, four vibrant bars, AR Darts, children's play area and outdoor rooftop terraces, while also incorporating a cookery school and community kitchen.
