Sheffield’s popular music credentials rival that of any UK city, and so, it goes without saying that the city has staged its fair share of live music spectacles over the years too.

2025 is set to be another big year for the music festivals in the city, with a whole host of events celebrating all genres of music, taking place from May all the way through to October.

Get Together helps kicks things off on Saturday 17 May, with another huge takeover of Kelham Island and Neepsend, that will see Mercury Music Prize winners, English Teacher, headline the festival, plus an array of bands performing and a very special art commission from Cold Ware Steve.

The Sheffield Chamber Music Festival also returns Friday 16 – Saturday 24 May, as they welcome some of the world's finest musicians and guest artists. For 2025, they'll be celebrating 20 years of extraordinary music-making with their resident musicians, Ensemble 360.

Then Love to Be will be taking over Forge Warehouse and Effingham Street on Sunday 25 May with a huge production over 4 stages for the Bank Holiday Weekend.

Things really start hotting up in the summer months with a record number of live music events and fsetivals taking place at Don Valley Bowl this year, including the Sausage and Cider Festival (7 June), Summer in Nashville (8 June), UK Garage legend Craig David and TS5 playing Live at the Bowl (11 July)90's Festival Weekender (12 - 13 July) and the return of BassFest (19 - 20 July).

One of the very major highlights of the summer will see Sheffield's iconic indie band, Pulp, reformed and ready to headline the Friday night of Tramlines Festival (25 -27 July) and if it's anything like the Human League's performance last year, it will be one mega singalong. Local lads, Reytons and indie band Kasabian are also headlining the Saturday and Sunday of the festival.

Taking place on the same weekend as the main festival at Hillsborough Park, The Fringe at Tramlines will also be back with another exciting and eclectic lineup of live music performances and DJs in venues right across the city, including a free outdoor stage on Devonshire Green.

We then return to Don Valley Bowl for Rock N Roll Circus 27 -31 August, with not one but two nights of legendary band, Queens of the Stone Age performing, followed by Sheffield's own Reverend and the Makers on Saturday and classic indie band, James on the Sunday.
