South Yorkshire destinations working in partnership

The South Yorkshire Local Visitor Economy Partnership (SYLVEP) brings together the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority (SYMCA), Sheffield City Council, City of Doncaster Council, Rotherham MBC, Barnsley MBC and the private sector.

Its purpose is to work in partnership on shared priorities to support the local visitor economy. Working closely with Visit England, and the LVEP network, enables us to collaborate, develop and grow the visitor economy across the region.

The SYLVEP Priorities:

  • Develop our product and places.
  • Increase awareness of our destinations.
  • Develop specific reasons to visit.
  • Enhance our transport provision and connectivity.
  • Manage our visitor economy effectively.

Developed and administered by Visit England, the LVEP programme is one of the key recommendations in the Government's response to 'The de Bois Review' of Destination Management Organisations in England.

The South Yorkshire LVEP programme, led by Sheffield City Council, will create a national portfolio of strategic and high-performing partnerships working in collaboration locally, regionally and nationally on shared priorities and targets to support and grow the visitor economy.

Looking for the latest information and opportunities? We now have a dedicated SYLVEP LinkedIn Page.
