Sheffield Lunar Chinese New Year Celebration 2026

21 Feb 2026 - 22 Feb 2026

After a phenomenal weekend celebration in 2025, the Sheffield Lunar Chinese New Year Festival will return to the city centre on 21 and 22 February 2026, to mark 'Year of the Horse'.

Once again, the Peace Gardens will host a spectacular programme of cultural performance, street food and community celebration.

The free celebrations take place across the Peace Gardens, Fargate and Sheffield Town Hall, starting from 12pm and running until around 5pm.

One of the main attractions will be the breath-taking Acrobatic Lion Dance, with performances at 12.15pm on Saturday and Sunday at the top of Fargate, with an additional performance at 3:15pm on the Saturday (only).

The Peace Gardens Main Stage will host a vibrant display of performances and demonstrations from across Sheffield communities throughout the afternoon, on both Saturday and Sunday.

Food and drink vendors with a mouth-watering array of flavours from many parts of the world will also be onsite throughout the weekend.
