Marketing Sheffield is Sheffield City Council's official destination marketing arm, with a clear focus on priority markets. Activity is aligned to the Competitive City strategic outcome, ultimately leading to more and better jobs through economic growth. Marketing Sheffield has lead responsibility for:
Leadership of the city's brand, working with key city stakeholder organisations
Promoting Sheffield in the areas of Trade (Business), Talent (attraction, retention and development), and Tourism (business and leisure visitors).
City Growth is Sheffield City Council's economic development function, focussing on enterprise, investment and the economy. Our roles and responsibilities fall into 4 areas:
Economic Strategy - shaping the city's economic policy, supporting elected members with economic intelligence, and promoting high level skills in the economy.
Investment - inward and indigenous investment activity, driving growth in Sheffield's key sectors, providing key account management services for major local employers, boosting international relations and trade activity, acting as the city's interface with property developers and providing HR support for investors.
Enterprise - promoting a culture of enterprise across the city, providing targeted support to start-ups and SMEs with growth potential, supporting growth of the social enterprise sector, working to embed enterprise is wider neighbourhood regeneration and ensuring a sustainable pipeline of managed workspace in the city.
Strategic Development and Funding - developing new forms of regeneration and finance, supporting City Growth's work with property developers, shaping and advising on major schemes, ensuring an appropriate supply of office and industrial development.

RISE is a major city-wide initiative to increase graduate employment in small and medium sized enterprises. Our vision is to bring together graduates who want to work hard and do great things, with businesses with energy and vision who are already looking for fresh talent. RISE is a collaboration between city partners, Sheffield City Council, Sheffield Hallam University, The University of Sheffield and the private sector.
