As part of this year’s Nether Edge Festival, audiences are invited to an evening of bold, genre-defying music from two of Sheffield’s most inventive and captivating performers: Sarah Heneghan and Ruth Webber.
Sarah Heneghan is a powerhouse drummer and composer, celebrated for her dynamic solo project Power Out, which blends live percussion with electronics to create intricate, high-energy soundscapes. Her work pushes the boundaries of rhythm and movement, building immersive, beat-driven journeys that are as visually compelling as they are sonically rich.
Ruth Webber is a singer, pianist, and composer with a rare gift for crafting intimate, emotionally honest songs that span folk, classical, and experimental genres. Her performances are grounded in stillness, vulnerability, and lyrical clarity – often drawing comparisons to artists such as Agnes Obel and Laura Marling.
This double-bill showcases two unique voices in contemporary music, each exploring the edges of sound and storytelling in their own way. The evening promises to be fresh, surprising, and deeply moving.
