Nether Edge Festival: The Women of Sheffield General Cemetery Tour

As part of this year’s Nether Edge Festival, join a thought-provoking guided tour exploring the lives of women, both wealthy and working class, connected to Sheffield General Cemetery. This walking tour uncovers the often overlooked stories of the women who shaped the city’s history.

Their companion book, 'A Woman’s Place' will be available to purchase on the day or online in advance, offering deeper insights into the lives commemorated here. After the tour, head to the Samuel Worth Chapel for refreshments – the café and bookstall will be open from 12.00-3.30pm

Accessibility: The historic nature of the site and the sloping landscape mean that not all spaces are fully accessible. Paths may be uneven and there are steps on some paths.

Tickets: All tickets are sold online via Ticketsource. No tickets are available on the door. Please note, there is no minimum age but the tour is aimed at adults and is more suitable for children aged over 11. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Tickets for this event are non-refundable. However, if the event is cancelled by Sheffield General Cemetery Trust, ticket holders will receive a refund. If a ticket has been purchased but the attendee is unable to come, they are encouraged to email marketingandevents@gencem.org so the ticket can potentially be reallocated.
