NYE Steak Night

Welcome to NYE at Merchants House: Guests will enjoy an intimate candlelit setting, £5 martinis, a curated drinks menu, and a delicious open-fire feast. The celebration begins in the afternoon and continues well into the night, fuelled by great music, exceptional food, and vibrant company.

Dinner will be served in two sittings, with plenty of time before and after for post-dinner drinks and a chance to bid farewell to 2025. This one-night-only menu features Basque-inspired flavours, with a true showstopper: smoked bone-in rib-eye cooked over an open fire. A curated drinks pairing will be available to order on the night, alongside the full extensive menu for guests to explore at their leisure. Live jazz will provide the ultimate soundtrack to the evening.

Timings

• First sitting: Guests arrive at 3:45pm for a welcome drink before the feast begins at 4:00pm, finishing around 6:00pm. Tables will then be vacated to prepare for the next sitting, but plenty of comfortable seating will be available for drinks.
• Second sitting: Guests arrive at 6:45pm for a welcome drink before the feast begins at 7:00pm.

The Menu
A five-course set menu with welcome drink and digestivo:

• Welcome Drink: A cold glass of fizz or lager.
• Smoked Sausage with Crunchy Slaw: Charred Pipers smoked sausage served over a crunchy fennel, cabbage & garlic slaw, dressed with sherry vinegar and herbs.
• Basque Shuka with Chistorra & N'duja: A fiery tomato and pepper stew with spicy chistorra sausage, smoky n'duja, and soft baked eggs. Served with rustic crusty bread.
• Charred Asparagus with Shaved Manchego: Simply grilled asparagus spears finished with fruity olive oil and curls of aged Manchego cheese.
• Smoked Bone-in Ribeye with Pommes Anna: Thick-cut ribeye, smoked low and finished over open fire. Served with layered buttery Pommes Anna potatoes and a herb & garlic salsa verde.
• Basque Cheesecake & Digestif: Caramelised top, creamy centre (San Sebastián-style) with a choice of Basque ice cider or chocolate liqueur.

Due to expected high volumes and kitchen capacity, menu amendments for dietary requirements cannot be accommodated, but full allergen information is available upon request via bookings@merchants.pub. Refunds are not available once purchased, though bookings can be transferred between timeslots where possible.
