Sheffield Hatters v London Lions
The Sheffield Hatters host the London Lions at home.
The club was formed in 1961 and became the first Women’s Basketball team in England. Since then the club has developed into one of the most successful women’s sports clubs in the UK.
The first lady of English basketball, Trailblazer Betty Codona OBE was the founder member of the club and she retired from coaching in 2009 following a career which saw her coach over 500 National League games, a record for any English coach, winning 40 National titles.
Sadly Betty passed away in Mar 2022 but her legacy lives on and remains the driving force behind the club.
