With a chart-topping concert, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, under the direction of conductor and arranger, Richard Balcombe, makes a welcome return to the season. Each year, Classic FM holds the largest poll of the world’s favourite classical music, as voted for by the public, with composers vying for the coveted top spot. Mozart, Elgar, Vaughan Williams and Tchaikovsky, as featured in this hugely popular programme, have all been in the running with female composers, such as Florence Price, rising up the charts in recent years too. As part of this wonderful evening of music, the orchestra’s Principal Clarinet, Miquel Ramos Salvado, takes the spotlight for Mozart’s great Clarinet Concerto, widely considered to be among the finest concerto written for any instrument.
