Threads Through The Cross

07 Aug 2025 - 22 Sep 2025

Following the extremely successful ‘Threads through Creation’ exhibition hosted by the Cathedral in early 2024, Sheffield Cathedral are delighted to welcome back talented textile artist Jacqui Parkinson to exhibit Threads through the Cross.

This unique and celebratory exhibition offers a trans formative encounter with one of the world’s greatest stories. ‘Threads through the Cross’ picks out key moments in Jesus’ life, death and resurrection.

Eighteen huge 3 x 3 metre and 3 x 2 metre panels display touching images of the journey leading up to the crucifixion. What did Jesus have to go through? And why? What happened next? The exhibition is bright and graphic and through an underlying influence of icons, it reimagines key moments in Jesus’ life.

Don’t miss this powerful and moving display of faith, art, and storytelling and your chance to witness this exceptional journey through the Bible’s narrative in silk artistry.

Entry to the Cathedral and the exhibition is free. Please bear in mind hosting exhibitions, events and concerts help to raise essential funds necessary to keep the doors open to this beautiful and sacred ancient Grade 1 listed place of worship, for you and everyone who follows you to enjoy. Donations are greatly encouraged with a suggested gift of £5 per person or £10 for families.
