Wax Head play live at Sidney and Matilda, with support by Stepover.
Wax Head are a drummer-led psych-punk force known for chaotic, sweat-soaked live shows and raw, brooding recordings. In 2024, they sold out headline gigs across Europe, dropped a feral EP, and pressed a live vinyl that captured their onstage madness.
Fronting the UK’s psych and garage-punk surge, Wax Head have become a must-see act—thanks to brain-bending riffs and unpredictable antics (yes, someone did headbutt a kick drum mid-show). Their first European tour earned them underground cred and festival slots at Manchester Psych Fest, Left Of The Dial, and They’re Going to Be Big.
2025 saw them level up: a second tour hit bigger crowds and new cities, plus a riotous live session on BBC 6 Music with Deb Grant and Nathan Shepherd.
Released via Sour Grapes Records, their gritty blend of garage-punk and psychedelia has been championed by BBC Introducing and featured on Spotify’s Fresh Finds Rock and Rough Trade’s Counter Culture.
With new music brewing and a packed tour calendar, Wax Head are just getting warmed up.
